Standard Processing Steps for Yogurt Machine Mold Base Shell
  1. Cutting
    Use a sawing machine to cut standard-sized steel plates into the required blank dimensions.

  2. Rough Milling (Face Milling and Side Milling)
    Mill the six faces of the plate (mainly the large reference surfaces) on a gantry milling machine to achieve flatness and basic outer dimensions, removing most of the machining allowance.

  3. Drilling Lifting Hole/Process Holes
    Drill screw holes (lifting holes) and reference pin holes on a drilling machine for subsequent hoisting, handling, and positioning.

  4. Rough Cavity Machining (Roughing)
    Use a rough cavity milling machine or gantry milling machine to preliminarily machine the mold cavity, guide pin/bushing holes, return pin holes, and other structural features, leaving uniform finishing allowances for all areas to be machined.

  5. Heat Treatment (Tempering)
    [Critical Step] Perform tempering treatment (quenching followed by high-temperature tempering) on the roughly machined plate. This eliminates internal stresses from rough machining, improves the steel’s overall mechanical properties (strength, toughness), and provides a stable material condition for subsequent finishing.

  6. Precision Grinding of Reference Surfaces
    After heat treatment, the plate may undergo slight deformation. This step involves grinding the two most critical reference surfaces (typically A and B surfaces) on a precision grinding machine to achieve extremely high flatness, surface finish, and accurate thickness, providing a unique and precise positioning reference for all subsequent finishing processes.

  7. Precision Milling
    Using the ground reference surfaces for positioning, perform precision milling on the four sides of the mold cavity, parting surface, stop grooves, slider grooves, etc., on a gantry milling machine or precision milling machine to ensure verticality, parallelism, and dimensional accuracy meet the drawing requirements.

  8. CNC Machining
    For complex shapes that cannot be achieved by precision milling (e.g., irregular curved surfaces, deep cavities, 3D runner channels, angled ejector pin holes, etc.), use computer programming to perform precision milling on a machining center (CNC).

  9. Drilling and Tapping
    Drill all screw holes, ejector pin holes, water channel holes, guide pin holes, etc., and perform tapping. This step is typically completed on a high-precision radial drill or CNC drilling machine.

  10. Bench Work
    Perform manual finishing, including chamfering and deburring of all edges, marking part numbers in designated locations, assembling standard components such as guide bushings and pins, and conducting water channel flow tests.

  11. Final Inspection
    Use measuring tools such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM), height gauges, and calipers to perform a full inspection of all critical dimensions, hole position accuracy, and flatness, ensuring compliance with the design drawings.

  12. Assembly and Packaging
    Clean all components, such as the front and rear mold cavities, guide pins, return pins, and ejector plates, apply anti-rust oil, fasten them, and package them for shipping.
