Four Experience Sharing Tips for Selecting Mold Bases
The shape of a mold base determines the appearance of the molded products, and its machining quality and precision directly influence the quality of these products.
  1. Check the mold base manual to see if it includes installation methods and usage techniques, and verify whether a simple and clear installation guide is provided.

  2. Where applicable, accompanying products should also be labeled with maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, lubrication, disassembly, and replacement steps.

  3. After using a mold base for a period, if the supplier makes design changes to the components, it is necessary to promptly replace the previous version to ensure proper operation.

  4. The type of mold base can be selected based on the shape, dimensions, precision, and feeding direction of the stamped part. Therefore, during selection, conduct a process analysis of the stamped part to determine the peripheral dimensions and closed height of the die, and understand the fitting precision of each component.

Common standard mold bases typically consist of the top clamping plate, top clamp plate, moving clamp plate, support plate, spacer block (also called support block or heel block), moving clamping plate (also called moving plate or moving bottom plate), ejector retainer plate, ejector plate, leader pin, guide bushing, return pin, and other components.
